RITZWELL ENHANCES THE ELEGANCE OF THE NEW COLLECTIONS IN A STAND THAT WELCOMES THE PUBLIC AMONG REFERENCES TO TRADITION, HARMONIOUS SHAPES, AND NATURAL ELEMENTS.
In line with previous years, Ritzwell’s exhibition stand at Salone del Mobile.Milano 2024 highlights the values and founding principles of the brand based on the search for a balanced mix between Japanese culture and contemporary language. The new layout signed by studio 967 arch in fact proposes a revisited and fresh version of some distinctive architectural elements such as the columns (referencing Japanese temples) and tokonoma (alcoves/niches set up in the most important room of a Japanese home) that divide the exhibition space and dialogue with the natural elements. Along the perimeters, the tokonoma - which are conceived as refined elevated “showcases” illustrating the high quality of the products from up close - are alternated with a sort of “railing” that allows the glance to penetrate and observe the new furnishing solutions. Inside, the environment is essential and welcoming: thanks to a concept focused on neutral and warm shades where the only accents of brighter yet never invasive colour announce the finishes of the collections of the brand. The balanced installation narrative is reflected on the shapes and material of the exhibits, where the careful study of a perfectly calibrated lighting plays a key role in an interplay of shadows and reflections that enhance the pure elegance of the products made of precious materials like leather, soft hides, solid wood, and sophisticated fabrics.
Among the many elegantly coordinated proposals on show, the protagonists of the stand will be two important new entries designed by Shinsaku Miyamoto. First, the CONSTANTINO armchair in solid oak or walnut, distinguished by tapered legs and curved armrests embellished with two different contrasting finishes, in leather or thick leather, to provide maximum seating comfort. Secondly, the MT COFFEE TABLE, a refined declination of the dining table MT TABLE, offered in a square or rectangular shape in two different heights with a slightly curved top in solid walnut or oak wood, available in various finishes, and slender cylindrical steel legs also available in various 7 colours. This year, Ritzwell’s collections are particularly expressive thanks to the two new colours, Sohboku and Gen, of the walnut wood created with a delicate process of colour application that preserves the distinctive features of the wood grain. In the Sohboku colour variation, the deepest part of the material is dyed with an intense, almost black, blue – a process that gradually becomes lighter towards the external surface, enriching the wood with nuances that are reminiscent of the movement of the sea. The Gen colour variation, on the other hand, conveys a warm and intense shade of brown that comes close to the colour of ebony, with a sophisticated and dynamic look distinguished by a subtle colour gradation that echoes the hues of the sky after a sunset. In order to further illustrate the high quality and importance of the handmade detail from up close, also this year the stand will include a workshop for practical demonstrations by Japanese craftsmen working on Ritzwell’s iconic pieces in front of a live audience.
