WE ARE HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THAT RIVAGE EASY CHAIR 30TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION, DESIGNED BY ATELIER D.Q., HAS BEEN SELECTED AS THE WINNER OF ONE OF THE 2022 ARCHIPRODUCTS DESIGN AWARDS.
This award, which has reached its seventh edition this year, celebrates design excellence worldwide and identifies the products that best represent contemporary design thanks to the continuous research on the Archiproducts portal, a renowned point of reference for design projects. The international jury assessed more than 800 projects among functional and innovative furniture, lighting, finishes, building systems, and the latest technological innovations for the home, submitted from 50 different countries. Members of the jury included leading professionals in architecture, such as Yama Karim, partner at Studio Libeskind, the duo Quincoces-Dragò, Ben Van Berkel, founder of UNStudio, Pitsou Kedem, Francine Houben, founder of Mecanoo, designer Michael Anastassiades, artist Edoardo Tresoldi, the Italian illustrator Emiliano Ponzi, as well as key personalities from the design industry, including design historian Domitilla Dardi, and curator of the Achille Castiglioni museum-studio, Giovanna Castiglioni.Furthermore, a jury of experts in sustainable and eco-friendly design assigned an Honourable Mention for Sustainability to products made according to the logics of circular economy. All winners distinguished themselves in originality, innovation, and experimentation in their 2022 production.
RIVAGE EASY CHAIR 30TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION is the re-edition of the armchair already in Ritzwell’s catalogue since 2011. Presented in a limited edition during the Salone del Mobile.Milano 2022 to celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary, it has now been included in the range of continuous products. The new RIVAGE EASY CHAIR 30TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION stands out for the carefully studied volumes of the wooden structure and delicate stitching of the leather. The elegant hand-stitched pattern on the front and rear of the body of the chair, combines the beauty of the single natural materials with a unique and consistent design, which is at once resistant and refined. The technique employed in using the needle and thread is the culmination of the meticulous handicraft that Ritzwell’s highly skilled craftsmen dedicate to the creation of every product.
