WE ARE HAPPY TO ANNOUNCE THAT RITZWELL'S MCM TABLE AND DIANA ARMCHAIR, DESIGNED BY SHINSAKU MIYAMOTO, HAS BEEN ASSIGNED TWO AWARDS AS PART OF GERMAN DESIGN AWARD 2019.
This international prize is organized every year by German Design Council, a foundation established in 1953 on the initiative of the Bundestag with the aim of discovering, presenting and honouring the most exclusive trends in the world of design. In order to better investigate every area of creativity, the German Design Award assigns prizes for industrial design (category Excellent Product Design) and graphics (category Excellent Communications Design). For the 2019 edition, a jury of important professionals from all over the world examined more than 5,400 entries, selecting the projects considered to be the most remarkable.
The MCM table was one of the winners in the Excellent Product Design category. The jury's motivation states: “The clear design language and the precision workmanship of the fine wood makes the table a timelessly elegant piece of furniture of premium quality. The table's light, slender appearance is also impressive, considering that is over three meters long”.
The Diana armchair won a special mention in the Excellent Product Design category. For this reason, the jury commented: “The gently curved lines of the wooden frame give this elegant armchair its distinctive form, which is filled out sumptuously with the wonderfully soft leather”.
